Overview of the Course🚀
One of the hardest things to do when learning to code is knowing what to learn. We made a selection of technologies that are very popular and wanted by the industry. As a developer you will never stop learning, so we will make sure to teach you how to keep developing yourself.
Mind Mingle focuses on strong fundamentals and hands on projects. After 10 weeks you will end up with a strong foundation and tons of finished projects. You are now ready to launch your coding career!
Here is an overview of the course content:
Week 1: Laying the groundwork
We kick off the course by making sure you have a strong foundation to build on. We recap the material you already studied during the prework and we introduce TypeScript. We also learn about git and Github so we don't lose any code!
Week 2: Frontend
You'll learn how to create highly interactive web apps using React and Next.js. Function components, hooks and working with data from an API will become familiar.
Week 3: Backend
Learn how to work with a database such as PostgreSQL using Prisma. With this knowledge we dive into Express and use it to build REST APIs.
Week 4: Project week
Apply everything you have learned up to this point by creating a full-stack application. You will need to create pixel-perfect layouts based on a Figma wireframes, create pull requests and resolve merge conflicts with your teammates.
Week 5: Advanced week
By this point, you have already learned a lot, but there is still plenty more to cover. We will do a deep-dive into CSS and Tailwind to enhance the beauty and usability of our websites. Using Zod for data validation and Jest for writing unit tests will ensure the robustness and stability of the apps you create.
Week 6: Final assessment
The moment of truth arrives; use what you've learned to create a full-stack app and aim for a high grade on the final assessment.
Week 7: Workshops
It's time to have some fun! We will host workshops where you are free to experiment and learn about topics that interest you. Workshop topics change frequently, but we've had enjoyable sessions on Python, Artificial Intelligence, React Native and more in the past. This is also the moment where you will have your first mock interview to prepare you for the job search.
Week 8,9 & 10: Projects
The real work start here, you will work on your own portfolio project(s) while being guided by the teachers. At the end of the course, we will celebrate with a big party, and you will present your work to all the attendees. Congratulations, you have successfully completed the course!
